BMK says raises sales by 1.1% to 235,000 tns in January-July

MOSCOW, Aug 10 (PRIME) – Beloretsk Iron and Steel Works (BMK), part of Mechel Group, increased its sales by 1.1% to 235 000 tons of metal products between January and July compared to the same period last year, the company said on Tuesday.

“The car, machinery and construction industries were our key buyers. The car and machinery industry-grade ball bearing wire sales doubled. Our steel profiles used in the car fasteners production saw a 34% sales increase,” BMK said in a statement.

The sales of bright rolled steel used in industrial fasteners production increased by 22%, of cold rolled steel bands increased by 21%. The sales of hard-wrought fitting used in reinforced concrete structures and frames production rose by 9%, of multipurpose steel rope and low-carbon welding wire grew by 7%.

Located in Bashkortostan, the 5,600-employee industrial complex is one of Russia’s key metal manufacturers. BMK’s product portfolio includes rolled rod and steel wire, steel rope, nails and steel bands of all sorts.
